Description
Horseshoe crabs are often seen mating and laying their eggs along the shorelines of the Atlantic and back bays of the mid-Atlantic. Not a true crab, the animal is more closely related to spiders. The blood of the horseshoe crab is used in medicine to determine certain bacterial toxins.
