Description
This great northern harrier, eagerly hunting for small animals such as mice, seems ready and willing to pose for its portrait taken in close proximity. Harriers fly close to the ground when hunting.
The harrier was on the ground of a neighbor's yard, searching beneath leaves piled in the yard. At one point the beautiful bird of prey hopped onto steps. To capture the fine art photograph, I stood for several minutes within ten feet of this magnificent bird, while he carefully watched me.
