This scenic tourist town is in the stunning Marble Rocks area of the Jabalpur district of India,.
The amazing detail of this vibrant stone carving is part of a series of intricate sculptures depicting various aspects of Mother Divine. The spiritual carvings are placed in a circular wall that surrounds the temple.
The Chaunsath Yogini temple was built in the 10th century during the reign of the Kalachuris. It is one of only four temples in India that is dedicated to the sixty-four yoginis. The word yogini is the female form of the word yogi, meaning someone who is accomplished in yoga (union).
