Description
Icons of the Delaware Coast, the Twin Towers at Whiskey Beach are located in Cape Henlopen State Park. These towers served as observation posts along the Delaware coast to protect American ships from attack by German U-boats during World War 2. If a German submarine was spotted, then two towers would try to locate it. Then a method of triangulation was used to pinpoint the location of the sub.
A high spring tide makes this vibrant beach photo unique among twin tower pictures by creating a beautiful reflection of the two towers in the ocean water.
