Description

In this simply amazing fine art photograph, beautiful butterflies are gathered in a large swarm on the banks of a stream that is a Ganges river tributary in the Himalayas, India. The swarming was in the middle of a sunny day, at an elevation of 7,000 feet. There was no indication of the butterflies feeding or mating. They are common in this area, so to my knowledge, they were not migrating. Whatever their reason for their convocation, it sure was a stunningly beautiful scene.
