This famous elephant statue at the Narmada temple in Amarkantak, India, has a special significance for good luck. According to legend, if you can squeeze under the elephant then you are relieved of all your sins. Only the smallest and thinnest of people are able to do so. The woman in this fine art photograph seems to be well on the way to redemption.
The Narmada temple is dedicated to the Narmada river, which Hindus believe is an aspect of Mother Divine. Even the sight of the Narmada river is said to purify one of great sins.
