Description
Tibetan monasteries have Mani or prayer wheels, along their walls that are inscribed with prayers. Traditionally, a buddhist monk or pilgrim will circumambulate the building in a clockwise direction, spinning the prayer wheels as he or she walks. For a Buddhist, this act invokes and spreads the blessings of the Tibetan god Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.
