Description
The stunningly beautiful Jal Mahal or Water Palace sits serenely in the midst of the tranquil and peaceful Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur, India. This unique and ancient palace was built for duck hunting in 1799 by Jai Singh II, the Maharaja of Jaipur.
Built from pink sandstone in the style of Rajput and Mughal architecture, the castle has three stories underwater. Exquisite gardens are located on the rooftop. The light colors of the palace add contrast and beauty to the darker color of the lake.
