Kim, a remarkable beauty to behold, and love the canopy of the trees over the roadway. The walkers are very nice touch, and just wondering about the red on the trees! Would love if you could shed some light on the red sprays on the trees lining the roadway. It is with great pride and pleasure that I showcase this beautiful piece of your art work on the HOMEPAGE of the Wisconsin Flowers and Scenery group site. I believe your works to be well composed, masterfully displayed, and a true joy to view. Thanks for sharing your talents with our members of WFS group and all members on FAA. Your excellence sets a standard to be proud of. LIKED and FAVED Forever, Elvis

Kim Bemis replied:

Randy, thank you for the kind complements that you give on my artwork. In answer to your question about the red color on the trees, I added the following to my description of this piece. This byway is a heavily travelled spiritual pilgrimage route. Amarkantak is located at the source of the Narmada River. Most rivers in India are considered sacred. For the Narmada in particular, to spend a year walking its length is considered by Indians to be a holy act that earns great merit. This scenic highway runs some distance beside the Narmada River, offering many pleasant and peaceful views of the surrounding hills and mountains. This particular stretch of road, with its sweet, magnificent and inviting canopy of green trees, gives great upliftment and comfort to the body and soul, whether one has walked many miles or is simply tired from driving all day, as was my situation. The red paint colour on the trees, which adds an interesting and vibrant contrast of color to this natural landscape, is actually a safety feature to alert drivers so that they do not run into a tree.
