Description
This painterly fine art photograph was captured during the Chincoteague Pony Roundup. The local fire department rounds up the Assateague Island wild ponies. The horses swim to Chincoteague Island, where the herd is culled as a means of population control. The culled horses are auctioned off to the highest bidder. Priced for their beauty, some of the horses command several thousand dollars.
