Description
First lit in 1859, the Cape May Lighthouse in New Jersey, serves as a guide for ships entering the mouth of the Delaware Bay.
The conical building to the right of the lighthouse is a World War II observation tower. These were used during the war to locate German U boats that were attacking cargo ships along our country's east coast.
