This magnificent horse is one of the wild ponies of Assateague Island. Each year, the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Department rounds up a herd of wild horses in the Assateague Island National Seashore. The horses are driven to Chincoteague Island. The herd is culled, and extra horses are sold at auction. N
